A player sees a static number. The underlying financial system is still moving.

Contribution Rates Can Change the RTP Mix

Progressive economics also affects how theoretical player return is distributed.

The UK Gambling Commission says a jackpot game’s RTP information may be presented as one combined game-and-progressive percentage or split into separate base-game and jackpot components.

This distinction becomes important when comparing progressive games with ordinary slots.

Imagine, purely as an example, two games with a theoretical total RTP of 96%.

One might deliver almost all of that expected return through regular game outcomes. Another could dedicate more theoretical value to a very infrequent progressive prize.
