1. Use a protective cover. A variety of covers are available that fit over the top of your bench. The simplest way to use a cover is to place it over the bench when not in use.
2. Use a protective mat. A mat can be placed under the bench when not in use to protect it from dirt and water. This will also help keep the bench looking clean.
3. Protect the surface with a screen protector or guard film. These films can be bought in packs of several and fit easily over the top of your stainless steel benchtop using an adhesive backing.
