Randwick is a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It is located in the eastern suburbs and has been an important part of Australian history since 1858 when it was first settled by European immigrants from Ireland and England. The area was named after Sir Thomas Mitchell who arrived on June 23rd, 1788 at Botany Bay with Captain Arthur Phillip on HMS Sirius (a convict transport ship).
