Caring for Your Kalanchoe: How to Keep It Happy and Healthy

If you’re looking for a low-maintenance indoor plant, look no further than the kalanchoe. With proper care, this succulent plant can bloom up to six months out of the year, bringing color and life to any room. So, what does kalanchoe care entail?

First and foremost, kalanchoe needs plenty of sunlight. Place it near a south or east-facing window for the best results. Water it deeply once a week, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so be careful not to keep it too moist.

During the blooming period, feed your kalanchoe once every two weeks with a 10-10-10 fertilizer. This will help it produce even more vibrant flowers.

If you notice your kalanchoe getting too leggy or top-heavy, it may need to be pruned. Use sharp, clean scissors to trim off the stem just above a leaf node. This will encourage new growth and a bushier plant.

With a little bit of kalanchoe care, you can enjoy this lovely plant all year round. Just remember to give it plenty of sunlight, water it sparingly, and prune as necessary. Happy gardening.
