Have you ever wondered how some of the amazing surreal scenes that you see online are created? Many of them are actually photoshop composite — a technique that involves combining multiple photos into one cohesive image.
What should I know about this?
The first step is to find the photos that you want to use. For our example, we’ll be using a photo of a forest and a photo of a waterfall. Open both photos in photoshop, then place the waterfall image on top of the forest image.
Now it’s time to start blending the two images together. We can do this by using layer masks. With the waterfall image selected, go to Layer > New > Layer Mask > Reveal All. This will add a mask to the layer that will allow us to blend it with the underlying layer.
